FAQ
Q: How many books a year will I be required to review and promote?
A: We publish twenty books a year. You must review and promote at least ten new releases.
Q: Can I opt out at any time?
A: Yes. But that will mean you will have to leave the Facebook group and your free Gumroad access will be retired. This is largely an honor system, so please do not take advantage of this by downloading all our books and then immediately leaving the team. We are all human beings with feelings around here.
Q. What if I don't like one of your forthcoming books for some reason and I don't wish to recommend it? Will I be removed from the Street Team?
A: No, but we ask that you notify us of this and explain why. If this happens for more than 50% of our books per year, we will remove you from the Street Team, as you clearly are not a good fit.
Q: What happens if I post a negative review of a VLP book?
A: That is your right, but again, if you negatively review more than 50% of our titles per year, you will be removed from the Street Team. The purpose of a Street Team is positive press.
Q: I don't have any social media accounts. Can I still join?
A: No, sorry. How will you help spread the word without social media accounts?
Q: Can you help me set up a blog and social media accounts so that I can join?
A: Sorry, we cannot help you with this. All applicants must already be established online and have a decent following. We will be thoroughly vetting all applicants.
Q: Are there any bonus rewards for referrals?
A: We do not currently have an associate reward system, so as of now we cannot give extra benefits for any referrals for new reviews or books purchased through your sharing. But that is on the horizon.
Q: Is there a word count requirement for reviews?
A: Yes, a minimum of 100 words is required.
Q: Should reviews be structured in any particular way?
A: You are free to write what you like, but should you need guidance, you could include:
